The Soap and Glory Awards

Hey there everyone :D, big blog post today…
I’m reviewing and ranking some of the Soap and Glory products. I bought the Soap and Glory Vanity case in the January sales this year, it was the last one on the shelf and I knew it was destiny.  Since last Christmas when my friend had the vanity I told myself that I would get one this year. Around the time of Christmas they were pretty much extinct, impossible to get your hands on unless you wanted to pay more that the retailing price, which was a no-go for me. So it was a great find, it was like love at first sight, especially when I found out it was £25 instead of £60! So here are my opinions on all the products I got in order from Worst to Best. Hope this is handy J

In Last Place: Calm One Calm All Bubble Bath
-This product claims to help you relax when you’re in the tub, which is pretty much what every woman wants. The simple reason I won’t be repurchasing this product is because of the price. It costs £5.11 for the full sized bottle and it doesn’t work any different to any there bubble bath I’ve used. It does smell fantastic of the Pink Scent by Soap and Glory I’ll give it that (I’m a sucker for the S&G scent) but it also claims to help moisturise your skin to which I feel it hasn’t made much of a difference at all to my skin. To be honest it’s just like any other bubble bath, and I’m a bit cheap too.
In 7th Place: Heel Genius Foot Cream
-The pure reason I won’t be repurchasing this product any time soon is that I don’t use it. I don’t really have any problems with my feet at all. Although I do get the occasional cracked heel after a long night out and that’s when I’ll run to this product. In all fairness it does its job very well, It’s really moisturising and sinks into the skin very quickly and it does resolve the cracked heel issue, I just don’t have that problem very often. I think if I did repurchase this again I’d only get the smaller size but if you do have a problem with dryness on your feet then I think this is a great and gentle alternative to one of those grater things, and probably worth £5.11 for the full size J
In 6th Place: Hand Food Hand Cream
-I do enjoy this product. It smells great and is a great hand cream. It’s not greasy at all and you can carry on with your life straight after applying it, unlike most hand creams where you might have to wait a day or two for the product to actually sink into your hands. The reason it’s at 6th place and not up the top is because I do prefer to use my Nivea soft moisturising cream instead. I just think it’s because it’s cheaper, has a thicker consistency and I’ve used it religiously for years and I don’t dare betray it. I’d feel like I’d be cheating.
In 5th Place: Mist You Madly Body Spray
-I actually love this product. I’ve never been a fan of body spray, I always questioned why?- I have perfume. Duh. But then I had to try this (since I spent money on it) and I think it’s a great alternative to perfume on those days when I have work or I’m at school. And then I don’t run out of perfume so quickly. Basically it smells florally and I really love it, as to staying power it wears off after about an hour, so I tend to keep it in my bag, it’s not heavy. Yay. Love it.
In 4th Place: Face Soap Facial Wash
-I’ve already mentioned this product in my Nightly Skin Care Routine J I only use this at night because I have a facial wash specially for the morning which I’m using. I do love this product. It smell so fruity and nice and I like how it foams after a while. It says its aim is to clarify using micro beads, but to be honest, I don’t like the beads, their pointless. They just get in between my fingers and cause a bit of a mess, but other than that I do genuinely love this product. It makes my face feel fresh and just nice. Awesome.
In 3rd Place: Pulp Friction Body Scrub
-I’ve never tried a body exfoliator before (except when in a shower smoothie) but other than that never. I was a scrub virgin. This product though changed my outlook on scrubs. I always thought they were too harsh for my skin, but it turns out my skin loves this stuff. After exfoliating for a while it turns foamy and it really does clarify my skin. As with all the other products I’ve mentioned this smells amazing! I can’t say enough good things about this product and I will definitely be repurchasing this.
In 2nd Place: Clean On Me Shower Gel
-I love it. That’s it. No seriously. It’s amazing, one of my favourite shower gels. It smells good, it’s extremely moisturising, it’s clarifying… Just delightful. I love using it after exfoliating with Pulp Friction I think they make a good combo. Although I broke mine, it does come with a pump applicator, which is great, less fuss when you’re in the shower! For £5.11, its worth it. I will be buying it again.
In 1st Place: The Righteous Butter
-If I could marry any skin care item it would be this little tub of joy. This body butter is so wonderfully badass it has its own photos. Definitely my favourite product from the vanity. I’ve never really been a body lotion person, and I’ve tried loads of body butters, but none of them really floated my boat, catch my fish? I’ve tried some from the body shop, but I have a love/hate relationship with them so to find this little gem was an absolute enchantment. It smells of the Pink fragrance from S&G and is extremely moisturising. It’s a white cream with a thick consistency but once you’ve applied it into the skin it absorbs instantly leaving your skin soft, smooth and silky. You can slap a load or a little of this stuff on your skin because no matter what you do with it, it makes you feel a million dollars. I’ve even had compliments recently telling me how smooth and soft my skin is. Win. For the £10.21 jar I have it for me is the perfect product that I will be repurchasing again and again. A staple in the world of skin care.

The Genisis

In the beginning Moggs created her blog and her post. Now the post was formless and empty, confusion was over the surface of the deep, and the presence of Moggs was typing over the keyboard. And Moggs said "Let there be letters," and there were letters. Moggs saw that letters were good and separated the letters by spaces to make words. That then created the first paragraph, which lead to many paragraphs and hopefully then to many posts.

Now that I've run out of pointless things to say I best introduce myself. Hi, I'm Jess. I'm 16 going on 17 and a current student at a 6th form. I study English, Drama, Biology and Physics (out of personal choice) and then of course, how could I forget Welsh Baccalaureate the subject which has been forced upon many other Welsh students aswell as myself. Sad really, but still.

I've enjoyed swimming all my life, it took up the majority of my time for 10 whole years but regretfully, I quit. I'm usually a dedicated person, but it was just too much along with everything else I commit to. I love drama, its my passion really. I love watching it, doing it, writing about it, talking about it, everything! Along side that singing goes hand in hand. I sing all the time. All the time.
I feel sorry for my neighbours.

I like writing too, which is one of the reasons I started this blog. I like reading on a daily basis and taking English has only pushed me further. I've always liked the idea of having my own blog but Ive always asked myself "What would I write about? Who would read it? Am I boring?". Anyway, there was a lot of 'ifs' and 'buts' but (hehe) I finally psyched myself up and made a blog!!! Yay!!!

So. Uh. Yeah.. Here it is.
